What are your grade levels?
St. Charles Borromeo offers PK3 through seventh grade classes.
How many students are in the school? What are the class sizes?
St. Charles Borromeo School has 435 students in PK3 through 7th grade.
Class size is approximately 22 students in second through seventh grade.
Class size is approximately 25 students in kindergarten and first grade with full - time assistants.
Class size is approximately 18 students with full - time assistant in our PK3/PK4 program.
Do I have to be Catholic to send my children to SCB?
No, we accept students of all religions based on classroom availability.
Is tuition due in advance?
Tuition is due in 10 monthly payments beginning July 1 of the upcoming school year.
Do you have a school counselor?
Yes, we have a certified counselor available to our students, teachers and parents.
Do you have cafeteria services?
Yes, breakfast is available for students beginning at 7:40AM until the morning bell. Hot lunch is served during the school day.
Do you have before care or after school care?
Yes, before care begins at 6:30AM in the school cafeteria until 8:15AM arrival bell. After-school care begins at the dismissal bell 3:35PM and is available until 6:00PM.
Do you have bus service?
Yes, free bus service to those who reside within the boundaries of our church parish through St. Charles Parish schools.
How do I know if school is closed during bad weather?
The Archdiocese of New Orleans will make an official announcement through the media with WWL-TV. The school also has a School Reach Message service that will call parents with up-to-date information.
What type of technology is available for students?
Students are offered state - of - the - art teaching with Promethean boards, Interactive white boards, student response devices, document cameras, I-Pod touch units, and a fully equipped computer lab.
Do you offer extra-curricular activities/sports?
We have Academic Games (4-7 grade), Drumline (2-7 grade), Beta Club (5-7 grade), Student Council (4-7 grade), Sugarcanes – cheering (girls PK4-3 grade), flag football, basketball, baseball (boys 5-7 grade), volleyball, basketball, soccer (co-ed 5-7 grade), softball (girls 5-7 grade), cheerleaders (girls 4-7 grade).
Do you have opportunities for parents to volunteer at school?
Our parents are very active with the school through our PTFO, Dad's Club, Mom's Club and our Grandparents' Club.
